In December 2016, veterans from around the country converged at Standing Rock in a show of solidarity with the Water Protectors. The veterans' presence there was known as "Veterans Stand for Standing Rock." They spent a few days in the area, providing support and protection for the protesters. However, the exact duration of their involvement would vary among individual veterans who participated.

It's essential to note that the overall protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline was a significant and prolonged event, spanning several months, with various groups and individuals participating at different times.
